Veronika Scott, 22, a young designer from Detroit’s College for Creative Studies has created a coat which doubles as a sleeping bag for Detroit’s struggling homeless population. Socially aware and innovative, Scott not only creates but she also has created “The Empowerment Plan” which gives jobless women a way to earn money by teaching them how to sew and work within the garment industry, offering them a way to support themselves.
